Featured Series: Sunflowers

The sunflower series is representative of the community of women who inspired me to initiate this journey as a professional artist. Every sunflower is unique whether yellow or variegated, mammoth & singular or small & clustered, they all require little water or soil to blossom.They produce petals to attract attention, nectar for bees, and seed for birds while purifying the environment around them. A sunflower follows the sun when there is light and turns to the sunflowers around it for sustenance on darker days.Sunflowers, like women often do so much with very little. These are some of the reasons that I chose to portray them in this first series.
